It all begins with an idea.
Leisure Days has a 23 year record of serving the Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, and Leduc areas. The program was founded by Wendy Brown to help fill a significant need in these three communities. On April 01, 2024 Wendy retired and Leisure Days became a non-profit organization to carry her work forward. Major support for the service is provided by Alberta Health Services (AHS). While AHS has been stalwart in providing financial support over the years, the grants have not kept up with the cost of providing the service. Leisure Days is looking forward to operating as a non-profit organization to raise funds to meet the expanding needs of participants and caregivers. AHS will continue to monitor the standards of services, staffing, accounting, and enrolment.
